Agentic AI: What Concrete Applications for Industry? What ROI?
Agentic AI in manufacturing: from buzz to production : Microsoft × Stellantis keynote at Tech For Industry Show 2026 (Paris Expo Porte de Versailles).
According to Gartner, 80% of enterprise applications delivered in 2026 already embed at least one AI agent — but only one agent solution in nine is actually in production. How to cross that gap?
This keynote first clarifies what agentic AI is (a model with an identity, able to navigate the information system, use tools via the MCP protocol and collaborate with other agents), and why it "breaks Conway's law" by decoupling work reorganization from IT transformation.
Stellantis then details its use cases across the value chain (engineering, procurement, supply chain with Optima, in-line quality, after-sales) in service of its 2030 plan: $60 billion of investment, vehicle development cut to 24 months. Microsoft shares its own transformations (contact centers, €250M in savings; the Discovery platform, a new battery and a PFAS-free fluid).
Guiding thread: reinvent processes, don't improve them marginally : and master agent costs and governance.
