From strategy to execution: how Motul supports its growth and diversification with Asana
In this session, Mathieu, CIO of Motul (a French engine lubricant manufacturer present in around 20 countries and distributed in 160), discusses how Asana supported the rollout of the group's Régénération 2030 transformation plan, launched in 2021.
The conversation covers the initial challenges — no shared methodology for prioritizing projects across countries, and an IT department with little real power to arbitrate business requests — followed by Asana's rollout approach: a POC involving IT, communications, marketing, and product teams from day one, deliberately loose adoption rather than a rigid rollout, and a first use case centered on capacity planning to make delivery timelines more reliable. The CIO also shares his pragmatic view of AI at Motul, built around a champions network and broad training on Microsoft Copilot.
The session closes with a live demo of an agentic AI workflow in Asana: a "strategic planner" agent that automatically qualifies and prioritizes a new project request, proposes staffing based on team skills and availability, followed by a "report creator" agent that automatically generates a visual executive committee report.
