Le Triangle Group: Lessons learned from an industrial digital transformation

How does a family-owned mid-cap in hypergrowth — 15 to 30% per year for 25 years — transform itself without breaking its momentum? In this candid case study recorded at the Tech for Industry Show, Thibault Chevalier (Chief Transformation Officer, Le Triangle Group) and Philippe Geoffrois (Nagarro) tell the story of project Axone: implementing a next-generation ERP (SAP Public Cloud and its extended suite) in a hybrid construction-manufacturing group. Le Triangle is a hidden champion of the energy transition: founded by a poultry farmer turned steel-structure builder and photovoltaics pioneer on agricultural buildings, the group now counts around 1,000 employees, €450M in revenue, 2,000 to 2,500 custom projects a year — targeting €1 billion by 2030. Facing some thirty operating companies, a hundred Sage 100 databases with no shared master data and unwritten processes ("Jean-Claude is the one who knows"), the transformation starts with processes and organization before the tool: harmonized roles, a methods office, business-by-business formalization "with a pilgrim's staff." Also covered: moving from gut-feel management to data-driven steering, the native SAP configurator for engineer-to-order, change management (directors, managers, a non-digitized shop floor), a deliberate big bang across 13 companies — and one hammered conviction: AI is no magic wand — without clean data and written processes, "you can't build AI on sand." A rare, hands-on testimony for every industrial mid-cap.
